BYD Forklifts has successfully won an order for over 160 new energy forklifts from Thailand's leading beer manufacturer, Singha Beer. This marks another milestone customer for BYD Forklifts in the Asia-Pacific region.

In recent years, as Thailand's industrial sector has steadily grown, there has been an increasing demand for forklifts, attracting numerous internationally renowned forklift companies. As a rising star in the forklift brand arena, BYD Forklifts had to put in exceptional efforts to gain market recognition and establish a strong presence in the competitive Thai market. Despite facing immense pressure, the BYD Asia-Pacific sales team embarked on the challenging path of market expansion in Thailand. Singha Beer is a well-known beer brand launched by the Boon Rawd Brewery Group, a prominent Thai conglomerate. Since 1933, Singha Beer has preserved 86 years of Thai beer culture and has become Thailand's national beer. Singha Beer can be considered a pioneer in the Thai beer industry, dedicated to providing customers with high-quality beer. Its unique, refreshing taste has earned Singha Beer recognition both domestically and internationally.

In this collaboration, the more than 160 new energy forklifts partnered with Singha Beer and BYD Forklifts will be used to further enhance Singha Beer's production efficiency and create environmentally friendly operating environments. The primary forklift models in this collaboration are balanced counterbalance forklifts known for their strong power and high stability, including products like the ECB25 and ECB30.

A Chance Encounter: In October 2018, personnel from Singha Beer visited a factory in Thailand, which happened to be using BYD lithium-ion forklifts for material handling operations. During their visit, Singha Beer's team became interested in the BYD forklifts they observed unloading cargo. They decided to personally test drive the forklifts. However, in just a few short minutes, they were impressed by the comfort of operating BYD forklifts, laying the seeds for the collaboration that would follow.

The vehicle that Singha Beer personnel test drove was the BYD 2.5-ton lithium-ion balanced counterbalance forklift, the ECB25. As is well-known, BYD balanced counterbalance forklifts are favored by companies operating in challenging material handling conditions due to their environmental advantages, high load capacity, strong power, and good stability. The ECB25 inherits the traditional strengths of the BYD forklift family, and when equipped with dual pallet handling attachments, its excellent stability when handling fragile goods is fully demonstrated. It was because of these reasons that BYD Forklifts won over the Singha Beer personnel in just a few short minutes.

Cross-Border Exploration:

Perhaps it was the strong positive impression from the initial test drive of the ECB25 that left a lasting memory, or perhaps it was the burning desire to explore further, but this journey also felt like it was destined.

A year later, in September 2019, Singha Beer representatives crossed borders to visit Shenzhen's Pingshan district, eager to explore BYD's new energy industry. During their visit, through in-depth communication, discussions, and on-site tours, the Singha Beer delegation gained a comprehensive understanding of BYD's iron-phosphate lithium-ion battery technology and frequently praised BYD's contributions to the field of new energy.

The battery installed in BYD new energy forklifts is the 100% independently developed lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery by BYD. It has advantages such as good stability, long cycle life, and high cost-effectiveness. It also performs well in high and low-temperature conditions, with a thermal runaway temperature exceeding 300 degrees Celsius, ensuring the high safety of the battery. It won't explode or catch fire due to overcharging, high temperatures, short circuits, or impacts, and it can easily pass the needle puncture test. This safety feature makes it ideal for BYD forklifts operating in different conditions.

During the discussion with BYD forklifts, the representatives from Singha Brewery expressed their recognition of BYD forklifts and their anticipation for future cooperation to promote the development of green logistics.

Shared Development: If the accidental encounter was fate, then the personal visit is a sufficient trust. Shortly after the visit, BYD forklifts, with their strong capabilities, seized the opportunity in the competition and successfully secured an order for more than 160 new energy forklifts from Singha Brewery. The two parties have officially embarked on a journey of cooperation.

It is worth mentioning that the forklift models for this cooperation have been custom-tailored by BYD forklifts based on the actual operating conditions of the customer. Through scenario simulations, comprehensive cost analyses, and other factors, BYD has customized these forklifts. To accommodate the work habits of the drivers and the site conditions, BYD has designed narrow overhead guards for the vehicles. To meet the customer's high-intensity handling operations, BYD has equipped the forklifts with dual pallet handlers. To ensure the safety of the operators, the overload protection accuracy has been increased to 10%.

To better serve the customer, BYD forklifts have equipped all 8 industrial parks of Singha Brewery with after-sales personnel. They are ready to address technical inquiries and vehicle issues, conducting regular inspections and maintenance on the vehicles, providing the customer with a comfortable and reassuring choice.

Regarding this cooperation, Singha Brewery expressed that BYD forklifts, which use lithium iron phosphate batteries, are environmentally friendly and represent a green, eco-friendly product. The vehicles also offer excellent maneuverability and stability, making them an excellent choice for handling fragile beer bottles. They hope for more future cooperation to jointly promote the use of new energy forklifts.

It is understood that the current annual replacement of forklifts in the Thai market is approximately 10,000 units, indicating significant growth potential and market space.
